Slight chance of development north of the Bahamas.

| Storm Report 2021

From west to east :

Disturbance Fifty Four is an elongated 400 mile trough which extends from the Caribbean close to the south of the Dominican Republic northwards into the open Atlantic. The entire trough is moving slowly northwest bringing heavy rain and increasing thunderstorms across the Bahamas.  Environmental conditions remain generally unfavourable, but there is a slight chance of development as this crosses the very warm Gulf Stream. Any organised intensification would head safely seaward with no threat to the eastern seaboard.

Disturbance Fifty Five is now closing on the Lesser Antilles moving to the west-nor’west at 10 knots. This is having relationship issues with upper level wind shear and is not expected to develop.

Stand easy.
