Two failed attacks - IRTC Gulf of Aden - 0357Z 9 December 2013
The MSC-HOA reports two failed attacks on unidentified merchant vessels in the westbound lane of the IRTC in the Gulf of Aden at 0357Z this morning, 9 December 2013, 71 nm SSW of Balhaf, Yemen:
‘---ALERT--- Alert number 015 / 2013. At 0357 UTC / 09 DEC two MV were reported under attack by one skiff in position 1250 N 047 49 E and 1252 N 047 52W. The skiff is blue and white hulled open skiff with O/M motor.
***This vessels managed to evade hijack***
VESSELS ARE ADVISED TO KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THIS POSITION AND TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION IF IN VICINITY.
