More rain in Alabama

Wednesday 10th August 2016

Disturbance twenty two is still centred over southwest Alabama and northwest Florida and producing heavy rain but showing no signs of tropical development. This is expected to drift to the north of west and remain inland through the rest of the week. Rainfall amounts from southeast Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle may average 4-8 inches over the next 3-4 days. The heaviest rain will fall along the coast.

Disturbance twenty three is a weak system centred about 400 miles east of Tobago and is moving to the west-nor'west at 15 knots, arriving over the Windward Islands overnight bringing a few brief disturb squalls. No tropical development is expected.

Disturbance twenty four slipped the African coast yesterday and is westbound at a leisurely 10 knots. Too early to say if this will develop, but it is surely just a matter of time. Rain in Alabama otherwise stand easy.
