One single sand blown disturbance at sea
Saturday 13th August 2016
Rain from disturbance twenty two is still chucking it down over the central Gulf coast states but has moved inland. Job done.
Disturbance twenty four is the only seaborne low pressure cell in the reporting region at present located about three days steaming west of the African coast and moving west at a leisurely 12 knots. This doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of developing as it is ploughing through airborne sand. This may have a chance of something meaningful later in the week but equally may just give up half way.
There is much chatter on the wires of an acceleration in tropical disturbance and even storm development as we approach peak season due to significant changes expected in environmental conditions. I'll try and separate the wheat from the chaff and report on Monday.
