Storm cones aloft over Bermuda
Thursday 22nd September 2016
KARL is currently around 500 miles south east of Bermuda headed north west at 15 knots. KARL is still expected to recurve out to sea, strengthening as it does so and making its closest approach to Bermuda tomorrow night, possibly at hurricane strength. Thereafter KARL will track to the north east and dissipate in the North Atlantic. There is still no consensus on passing distance from Bermuda and as a consequence, a tropical storm warning has been issued.
LISA is now around 700 miles west-nor'west of the Cape Verde islands and headed west-nor'west at 5 knots. LISA is expected to continue to weaken during the next few days as it encounters less favourable environmental conditions. LISA is no threat to land.
