NICOLE nearing hurricane strength

Disturbance thirty eight is almost ashore in the far south western Caribbean. End of passage.

Tropical Storm NICOLE is located about 360 miles south of Bermuda and is moving to the north-nor'west at 5 knots with maximum sustained winds of 55 knots. Environmental conditions are favourable and NICOLE is expected to become a hurricane within the next 12 to 24 hours and pass very close to Bermuda as a strong hurricane on Thursday.

Disturbance forty two is about 700 miles to the east of Trinidad and moving to the west-nor'west at 20 knots. There is still a slight chance of development over the next week as it moves to the west-northwest. This disturbance will enhance showers and thunderstorms across the Lesser Antilles for the next two days.

Disturbance forty three has been identified over the Cape Verde Islands and is moving to the west-nor'west at 12 knots. This is likely to move to the north west into the eastern Atlantic next week.
