Quiet day across the tropical Atlantic
Thursday 29th June 2017
Disturbance Twelve is just passing over the Netherlands Antilles now, westbound at 12 knots. More showers and localised storms but no significant development expected.
Disturbance Eleven is centred about 600 miles north east of the mouth of the Amazon now, westbound at 8 knots. Wind shear aloft is keeping this in check and there is little sign of development.
Disturbance Thirteen is just past the Cape Verde islands on a westerly heading at a leisurely 8 knots. In better conditions, this could develop but sand in the east and shear in the west are preventing surface organisation and will hopefully continue to do so. All good.
