Depression Four likely to be short-lived

Thursday 6th July 2017

Disturbance Thirteen has upgraded and become Tropical Depression Four, currently forming an area of gloomy but localised conditions about 500 miles north of the Amazon. After a couple of undecided days, this has now got under way and is headed west-nor'west at 12 knots. On this track, the system is expected to pass to the north of the Leeward Islands on Sunday. The inrush of dry air yesterday has significantly reduced the prospects of this depression developing significantly and may yet weaken again.

Good news. Stand easy.
