Disturbance Three well ashore
Tuesday 19th June 2018
Disturbance Three is well ashore over Texas now and has opened up into a wide trough as it drifts inland. Heavy showers and storms will persist over the western Gulf of Mexico for a couple of days with the strongest bands of thunderstorms producing wind gusts of up to 50 knots. Squalls currently over the northwestern Gulf will spread inland over the coming two days with the heaviest rain expected along the middle and upper Texas coast.
Disturbance Six is just passing north of Curaçao westbound at 18 knots. This remains weak and is not expected to develop. This will enhance shower and thunderstorm activity over northern Venezuela and Colombia today and tomorrow.
