Three non-threatening disturbances at sea

Saturday 23rd June 2018

Disturbance Six has snuck into the far south of the Bay of Campeche, weakened after a run ashore over the Yucatan peninsula and moving west-nor'west at 18 knots. This has little sea time ahead before making a landfall south of Tampico so unlikely to develop.

Rainmaker Disturbance Seven is passing south of Haiti moving west-nor'west at 12 knots causing heavy rain across the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, as well as the Virgin and northern Leeward Islands but showing no signs of development.

Disturbance Eight is now moving west at 22 knots centred around 250 miles north-east of the mouth of the Amazon. While this will enhance rainfall for the southern Windward Islands on Monday, there is no sign of surface organisation.

Stand easy.
