Weather watch as convergence zone shows early opportunities
Tuesday 28th August 2018
Disturbance Twenty Nine is now around 300 miles east of the Leeward Islands moving west-nor'west. near 15 mph. This will track over the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico during the next couple of days with little impact or development. We picked this up a couple of days ago and felt a development window may open if this were to track a shade north of west. This has nudged north of track and may pick up a little as it moves towards the southern Bahamas in the next few days. Nobody has this down for significant tropical development but I would keep a watch on this.
Disturbance Thirty is passing the is Cape Verde Islands now, shaping up for a westerly crossing. Dry air awaits but some windows of opportunity are beginning to appear.
Another disturbance is expected to move off of the coast of Africa in about 2 days. This one is getting the modellers excited. Weather watch needed.
