Flurry of activity off eastern seaboard

Tuesday 18th June 2019

A broad area of showers and thunderstorms piped up off the coast of Florida this morning. This seems to be headed north today and may develop into a trough of low pressure off the coast of Georgia before it passes the coast of South Carolina late this afternoon. Gusty conditions are likely offshore the Carolinas tonight. East of where the trough ( or possible low) tracks, winds are expected to be 18 to 25 knots. Any further development is likely to be blissfully brief as the system will weaken after moving offshore of North Carolina early on Wednesday.

Stand easy.
