Single disturbance to enhance showers over Lesser Antilles
Friday 21st June 2019
Upper level wind shear in the southern Caribbean put paid to Disturbance Five as it passed close to the Netherlands Antilles overnight.
Disturbance Six is centred around 400 miles north-nor'east of the mouth of a the Amazon and is moving west at 18 knots. This is still ploughing through dry air and faces upper level wind shear ahead, both of which will keep a lid on development. This will enhance shower and thunderstorm activity over the Lesser Antilles over the weekend but won't develop.
