Independence Day - sand in the convergence zone
Thursday 4th July 2019
We can see by the dawn's early light that Disturbance Eight is about one day's sailing east of the Leeward Islands, westbound at 18 knots. This will likely enhance shower and thunderstorm activity across the Lesser Antilles by twilight's last gleaming but will remain weak as it tracks across the Caribbean.
Disturbance Nine is two days west of the Cape Verde islands and gallantly streaming west at 16 knots. This is dredging through sand-spangled air which will prevent any meaningful organisation and will remain weak as it tracks west.
Neither disturbance is likely to produce any kind of perilous fight and all well clear of the land of the free and the home of the brave, if you like.
Happy Independence Day.
