Possible development headed for north east Gulf of Mexico
Sunday 7th July 2019
A trough of low pressure has formed over Georgia which looks set to track south as Disturbance Eleven over the next few days into the north eastern Gulf of Mexico. Conditions are fairly favourable for development once this becomes seaborne towards the middle of the coming week.
Disturbance Nine is about 300 miles north east of the mouth of the Amazon and is moving west at 12 knots. Shower and thunderstorm activity has increased a little but development chances are still only slight.
Disturbance Ten is about a day west of the Cape Verde Islands moving west at 18 knots. This is transiting dry air which will restrict development.
