DORIAN headed for Puerto Rico. ERIN seaborne

Wednesday 28th August 2019

Small and weak Tropical Storm ERIN is now centred about 270 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras inching north at 2 knots with maximum steady winds of just 35 knots. This is expected to accelerate later today followed by a turn to the northeast overnight tonight. This will still remain well east of the eastern seaboard but will have some impact on Atlantic Canada onThursday and Friday as an extratropical storm.

Tropical Storm DORIAN is located around 90 miles south of the British Virgin Islands moving north-west at 10 knots with maximum sustained winds of about 35 knots. DORIAN will make landfall over Puerto Rico this afternoon and thereafter expected to move to the northwest. Both ‘Florida' and ‘hurricane' are being bandied about with an eye on a landfall late Sunday or early Monday.

Disturbance Thirty Three has just left the African coast. Early days.

Stand by for DORIAN making landfall in Puerto Rico. Hurricane response plans off the shelves in Florida.
