Two areas identified for potential tropical development
Friday 22nd May 2020
After my early speculation on pressure gradients over Panama, a few of the sharp-eyed commentators have picked it up overnight and are forecasting a burst of mucky weather in the far south-western Caribbean towards the middle of next week. If this can organise itself into surface formation, conditions are likely to be favourable for development.
Another eastbound Atlantic front is leaving a potential area for development in its wake to the south of Bermuda. This also has fertile development conditions but at present, would be clear of any land mass.
For now, the reporting region is meteorologically featureless so we should expect calm seas and blue skies for the coming weekend.
