DORIAN to be downgraded

General picture 27th July 2013 1500z

Tropical storm DORIAN is now around 950m east of San Juan, Puerto Rico and moving west at about 18 knots with maximum sustained winds of just 35 knots. DORIAN is clinging to tropical storm status in the face of hostile environmental conditions but expected to open out into a fairly pathetic tropical wave in the next 12 hours and then track into Cuba by late Tuesday. Anything left thereafter will make its way into the south-eastern Gulf of Mexico on Thursday and track to the west-northwest or northwest across the central Gulf. Redevelopment in the Gulf is not expected.

The experts have identified a new feature moving off the coast of Africa. This is disturbance twenty six. We picked this up two days ago.

Stand easy.
