Westbound disturbance eight passing the Netherlands Antilles

Disturbance Eight is just passing the Netherlands Antilles westbound at 20 knots. Excessive ground speed and strong south-westerly wind shear across the entire central Caribbean have shot any organisation to pieces. It will be a minor miracle if this makes Panama – although I said the same two days ago – and all we can expect are showers and thunderstorms from Aruba to Grenada as this passes by.

That's it. Wisps of high altitude cloud over the western half of the convergence zone, sand to the east and still blue skies over the US Gulf indicate at least five balmy days.

Stand easy.
