Disturbance fifty two dissipated before it made the Leeward Islands, leaving the entire reporting region disturbance-free for the first time in six months.

Frontal systems crossing the Gulf of Mexico have created a donkey'a breakfast of air flow aloft. This prevents vertical organisation and reinforces our view that for the Gulf of Mexico, the 2014 season is over. We still need to monitor swirling air patterns in the Atlantic and close to the eastern seaboard of the United States to ensure no nasty surprises await, before we let the fat lady sing.
