Disturbance three losing power
Disturbance three is almost as far west as the Yucatan Channel now and moving north west at 8 knots. The system is in the process of merging with an area of moisture that extends from the Yucatan peninsular through to the Florida Straits.
Most guidance now only indicates a weak low-pressure area forming near western Cuba over the next day or two. The potential system is expected to track north east near the southern Florida peninsular and the Bahamas before heading out to sea later this week. This is underperforming already and the likelihood of development as it eventually enters the western Atlantic is decreasing.
This disturbance, coupled with an upper-level disturbance and associated frontal system, could bring heavy rainfall to the central and southern Florida over the next 2-3 days.
