A new disturbance approaching the Gulf of Mexico
General overview Saturday 13th June 2015
Disturbance seven appeared yesterday afternoon and is currently located near the coast of Belize. This will move to the north west or north-nor'west during the next few days. This would take it towards the north western Gulf coast late on Monday or Tuesday.
At this time, it appears as if the system will make a fairly uneventful landfall in Texas or western Louisiana. The path of this system is thick with upper level shear thus most of the more reliable commentators do not expect this to develop. There is always an exception to the rule and in this case, there is a murmur of a weak tropical storm coming from an habitually gloomy observer who we know well.
Disturbance six is centred around 700 miles north east of Amazon delta and is moving to the west at 12 knots. No development is expected.
