One single weak low in the eastern Caribbean

Tropical disturbance eight has just passed the Leeward and Windward Islands on its westerly track at 15 knots. Although this has now freed itself of the shackles of dry Saharan air, a stationary upper-level low just to the north of Puerto Rico is churning out upper-level shear which will prevent any tropical development as this disturbance passes to the south. Nonetheless, the combined effects of the upper low and the disturbance itself will cause enhanced showers and thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles for the next 12 hours or so.

Stand easy.
