Three underwhelming disturbances
General overview Thursday 16th July 2015
A weak upper-level low is enhancing a few showers in the Bay of Campeche, but it will move west into Mexico later today.
Shower and thunderstorm activity has increased during the past 6 hours in association with disturbance fifteen which is now mid-Atlantic and steaming west at a leisurely 8 knots. There is a window of opportunity for development, but this will be brief before it hits an area of stronger wind shear and more unfavourable conditions. Enhanced showers and storms are likely for the Lesser Antilles early next week.
Disturbance twelve is a day into the southern Caribbean and is zipping along at an extravagant and utterly pointless 25 knots. No development is expected.
