New disturbance north of the Amazon
Disturbances fifteen and sixteen are coughing and spluttering to an uneventful conclusion in the western Caribbean and unlikely to be on radar tomorrow. To the east of the Caribbean, about 250 miles due north of the Amazon delta, a low pressure wave has deepened and become disturbance seventeen. This is moving slightly to the north of due west at 17 knots and expected to turn to the west-nor'west tomorrow and bring enhanced showers and storms to the Windward Islands this weekend. There is a slim chance that this might develop, but is likely to dissipate by the time it reaches the central Caribbean due to yet more tedious unfavourable upper-level conditions.
