Weak system moving west along Gulf coast

Disturbance twenty seven has spun out of the southbound colluded front as a weak surface event in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The trough is producing scattered showers and thunderstorms and is expected to begin moving west across the Gulf of Mexico later today and move inland along the Texas and Louisiana coasts around Sunday evening. Not even the keenest of catastrophists are indicating any serious storm.development. Enhanced shower and thunderstorm activity can be expected with this trough over the northern Gulf of Mexico as it moves west through the weekend.

Disturbance twenty six is closing in on the Leeward Islands and is moving to the west-nor'west at 15 knots. It will enhance showers and storms over the Lesser Antilles today before continuing to Puerto Rico and Hispaniola over the weekend. Tropical development is not expected.
