Product tanker hijack and cargo theft - Malacca Straits

Ten persons armed with guns and knives hijacked a product tanker underway in position 01:20.6' N 103:18'2 E. This position is around 7m west of Pulau Kukup and very approximately 100m north west of Singapore, in the southern Malacca Straits. The attackers tied up all crew members and held them hostage in one cabin, then instructed Master to move the vessel to a specified position. At this position, an unidentified tanker with an orange hull came alongside and the Mate and Boatswain were instructed transfer cargo to the offtake vessel. At around 1600LT, after transferring an unspecified quantity of gasoil, the attackers departed after stealing crew belongings. No crew were injured during incident.
