LISA close to hurricane landfall in Belize

| Storm Report 2022

From west to east:

Tropical Storm LISA is currently 100 miles off the coast of Belize headed west at 14 knots, producing winds touching 65 knots. The glass is continuing to fall and LISA is still expected to reach hurricane intensity before landfall this afternoon with winds gusting 85 knots. After weakening over Central America, LISA is expected to emerge into the Bay of Campeche as a tropical depression on Friday but development there is unlikely and the system is expected to dissipate in the bay on Saturday. There is no threat to the central or northern Gulf of Mexico.

Tropical Storm MARTIN is currently located about 750 miles east-nor’east of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds of 65 knots. This is also an area of falling pressure and MARTIN is expected to reach hurricane intensity later today albeit briefly as it will begin to accelerate to the north-eastward across the open North Atlantic and transitioning to an extratropical storm tomorrow.

Stand by for hurricane force winds close to the coast of Belize and in the far north Atlantic.
