LISA set for hurricane landfall in Belize.

| Storm Report 2022

From west to east:

A hurricane hunter reconnaissance aircraft has just buzzed tropical storm LISA which is currently 500 miles east of Belize headed west at 12 knots. Currently producing winds gusting 55 knots, LISA has a hurricane severity index (HSI) rating of 4 out of a possible 50 points (2 for size and 2 for intensity) and is expected to strengthen and reach hurricane intensity passing the Bay Islands of Honduras tomorrow and make landfall in Belize as a hurricane late tomorrow night. At this time, LISA is expected to have an HSI rating of 8 (3 for size and 5 for intensity) and produce 75 knot winds over a 70 miles tropical storm force windfield radius which I suspect is ludicrously conservative. Tropical storm conditions are expected along portions of the north coast of Honduras today and a tropical storm watch is in effect for the Caribbean coast of Guatemala, and the south-eastern Yucatan peninsula of Mexico where localised flash flooding is expected as is potential for a dangerous storm surge at landfall.

Disturbance Forty Three becoming better organised about 500 miles north-east of Bermuda. This disturbance has an increasing chance of developing into a tropical or subtropical storm over the next couple of days as it tracks generally eastward before accelerating to the north-east on Thursday.

Stand by for muck and filth over north-eastern central America.
