A spark of interest in the south west Caribbean

Friday 8th June 2018

There are no active disturbances of any significance across the reporting zone.

At this stage in the season, conditions often lend themselves to kick-starting events in the south western Caribbean, as we had with ALBERTO - and have had three further short-lived speculations since. Speculation number four then is a low pressure cell expected to form over the Yucatan Channel towards the middle of next week. There is still a decent amount of wind shear across the Gulf so if this were to form, it is unlikely to impress anyone - for now.

Stand easy.
