Sand continuing to dominate the trek west
Monday 27th August 2018
Disturbance Twenty Nine is now a couple of days east of the Windward Islands, westbound at 18 knots. The window for this to edge north and take advantage of a favourable sand-free environment south of Florida has all but closed and instead, this looks set to join the familiar trail of lost potential.
Disturbance Thirty has moved off the coast of Africa, headed due west at about 8 knots. As with many of its 29 predecessors this season, it is showing youthful enthusiasm but also looks set to wither in dry air.
