Eyes on Central America and the Bay of Campeche next week
Saturday 30th May 2020
Disturbance Three is becoming more pronounced in favourable environmental conditions. Situated 430 miles east of Bermuda, this will track north-west over the next few days as it strengthens but is headed to merge with an approaching front early next week and will pose no threat to land.
The much anticipated trough set to straddle Central America is beginning to take shape and looks set to produce a substantial low pressure cell over the eastern Pacific. This will undoubtedly be a rain maker for southern Mexico and there is still a slim chance of spin off into the Bay of Campeche next week, albeit highly speculative at present.
