Two new blips on radar
Sunday 14th June 2020
There are two new disturbances on our screen today.
Disturbance eight has piped up about a day's steaming east of the Windward Islands, westbound at 8 knots. There is some upper level shear around which will keep a lid on development but this will cause heavy showers and thunderstorms across the south eastern Caribbean Islands over the next two to three days.
Disturbance Nine has just slipped the African coast, the first launch of the season, moving west at 12 knots. This is rather early but environmental conditions across the convergence zone are not quite ready to start the production line, so this is likely to be condemned to the scrap bin soon.
