Disturbance eight dissipates

The only show is town has run down the curtain before the finale. Disturbance eight failed to progress much further west than Aruba, before upper level shear pelted the dismal cast with rotting fruit. Aerial imagery fails to show any residual showers. This disturbance was abruptly demolished and shows the intensity of upper level winds in the Caribbean today.

A keen and bright-eyed new low pressure cell is preparing to leap enthusiastically westward from the African Coast. This will be a futile act. The eastern side of the intertropical convergence zone is still laden with Saharan sand. A sandpit is not an encouraging environment for cyclonic development, which needs warm water, good moist air and an uninterrupted vertical air column.

Stand easy.
