Disturbance seven shaping up for Texas
General overview Sunday 14th June 2015
Disturbance seven is ashore over the northern Yucatan peninsular and pushing north-west at a little over 5 knots. Although tropical disturbances tend to fade once they are over land, this did organise a little yesterday and does look as if it might have some surface shape when it becomes seaborne tonight. There remains a slim possibility that this could deepen and become a weak tropical storm as it moves north-nor'west across the Gulf of Mexico. The main impact on land will be heavy rainfall. For the offshore deepwater lease areas of the Gulf, are most likely with a landfall in Texas on Tuesday.
Disturbance six is now centred around 350 miles north-nor'east of the Amazon delta and is moving to the west at 12 knots but no significant development is expected.
